This goes beyond a review. I take your existing formulation (or your product brief if you’re starting from a concept) and build you a complete new formula on paper. You get a full formula table with INCI, trade names, suppliers, functions, and percentages, plus a detailed manufacturing method, pH targets, and stability considerations.
The difference between this and a review is that a review tells you what’s wrong with what you’ve got. A theoretical reformulation gives you a new, complete, ready-to-make formula. You (or your contract manufacturer) can take this document and produce the product.
$1,250 AUD for standard cosmetic products. This includes the initial formula plus any in-scope research needed to select ingredients and build the system. One tweak is included in the base price (additional tweaks are $300 each, or grab the Tweak Bundle for three at $750).
After you have used the review service you may want to reformulate. This service provides a theoretical starting reformulation delivered as documentation. You specify the changes required and fill in all required forms and I deliver a new, improved formula that addresses the issues identified during review. This is still a paper-based (theoretical) service. There are no physical samples, no lab work, no hands-on development. You receive a reformulated product based on theoretical formulation knowledge as a document, ready for you to test.
This is the service that sits between a simple review and full custom development. It’s ideal if you already have a formula that’s close but needs professional optimisation, and you don’t need someone to physically make samples for you. This is not a product development service and formulations are provided as-is based on formulator knowledge and your outlined requirements. The quality of this service relies heavily on the information you provide.

What You Receive |
| Complete reformulated starting formula document (ingredient list, %, manufacturing method)
Stability and regulatory recommendations specific to the reformulated formula |
Your Responsibility |
| Complete required forms and provide your complete original formula (all ingredients, exact percentages, manufacturing method)
Provide a detailed product brief (target consumer, desired texture, key claims, ingredient restrictions, budget constraints) Source all ingredients yourself Make and test the reformulated formula yourself (or arrange with a manufacturer) Conduct all testing (stability, PET, safety assessment) independently Implement the formula at your own discretion and risk |
What’s Not Included |
| Physical samples of any kind (this is a theoretical/documentation-based service)
Lab work, bench testing, or hands-on development Stability testing, PET, or any physical testing Safety assessment or toxicological review Label compliance or claims compliance (separate services) Manufacturing or production Project management with manufacturers Ongoing support beyond the deliverables (further questions billed under Q&A or General Consultancy) No tweaks or changes included (charged $300 per additional tweak) |
How To Engage |
| Step 1: Complete all forms and submit your formula with all ingredients, percentages, and complete manufacturing method
Step 2: Provide a detailed product brief including target markets, desired outcome, ingredient restrictions Step 3: Pay the full fee before work commences Step 4: I review your brief, formula and manufacturing process and develop the reformulated formula Step 5: Receive your written reformulated formula document Step 6: If tweaks are needed, submit tweak requests at $300 per tweak |
Important Note |
| This is a THEORETICAL service. The reformulated formula is delivered as a document only. I do not make it, test it, or verify it physically. You are responsible for all lab work, testing, stability and manufacturing. If you need a production-ready formula with physical samples and hands-on development, the Custom Formulation Development service is the appropriate choice. |
